ATLAS PUBLIC HEALTH TO DEMONSTRATE INTEROPERABILITY AT
IHE NORTH AMERICA CONNECTATHON 2010
Calabasas, CA, December 16, 2009
Atlas Public Health today announced plans to participate in the upcoming IHE North America Connectathon at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, IL, January 11-15, 2010.
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is an initiative by healthcare professionals to improve the way healthcare systems share information. According to the IHE website, “Systems developed in accordance with IHE communicate with one another better, are easier to implement, and enable care providers to use information more effectively.” In November 2009, Atlas was approved as a Member Organization of IHE International.
The IHE North America Connectathon 2010 provides detailed validation of vendor participants’ interoperability and compliance with IHE profiles. Following the Company's participation at the 2009 Public Health Information Network (PHIN) conference interoperability showcase, Atlas was invited to reprise its demonstration for H1N1 at the 2010 Connectathon. The Company will use its PHIN suite of software to demonstrate how a state health department can interact with others using HITSP (Health Information Technology Standards Panel) transaction standards.
Robert Gregory, Atlas Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy stated, “The data sharing capabilities that Atlas will demonstrate at the Connectathon are based on functionality currently available for Atlas Public Health customers, and are not prototypes.” He continued, “With interoperability solutions such as this, Atlas Public Health enables public health facilities to further promote and protect the health of the community.”
